What this tool does NOT do
- It does not file, remit or verify your actual GST returns - use it for pricing and planning, not as a substitute for your GST filing.
- It does not save your numbers between visits - nothing is stored once you close or reload the page.
- It does not decide your pricing strategy for you - it calculates the numbers instantly so you can decide with real figures.
Frequently asked questions
How is the selling price calculated when I use a multiplier?
Selling price (including GST) = Total Sourcing Cost (your sourcing price plus its own GST) x the multiplier you enter. For example, a ₹100 sourcing price with 18% GST is a ₹118 landed cost - at a 4x multiplier, the selling price comes to ₹472.
Why does Net Profit use the selling price including GST as revenue?
This calculator counts the full amount a customer pays (including GST) as revenue, and every GST-inclusive cost - sourcing plus other expenses - as investment, so Net Profit reflects the cash difference between what you collect and what you spend. It does not separately deduct the GST you must remit to the government on the sale, so factor that in yourself if you want a post-remittance profit figure.
What exactly counts as "Total Investment"?
Total Sourcing Cost (including its own GST) plus every other expense you add, each converted to its GST-inclusive total - the full amount you actually pay out to get the product ready and shipped, before the sale.
Can I skip the Other Expenses section?
Yes - it is entirely optional. Leave it empty and Total Investment will just be your Total Sourcing Cost.
Is there a limit on how many other expenses I can add?
Up to 10 - enough for packaging, shipping, marketplace fees, advertising and more without cluttering the form.
Does my pricing data get uploaded anywhere?
No - every number stays in your browser and the calculation runs in plain JavaScript. Nothing is sent to Servicxy or stored once you close the page.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes - the form, the expense rows and the results breakdown are all fully responsive, with touch-friendly inputs and buttons on phones and tablets.
How is this different from a plain profit margin calculator?
Most simple margin calculators just subtract cost from selling price. This one handles GST independently on the sourcing side and the selling side (since your entry mode and rate can differ), plus up to 10 real other expenses like packaging, shipping and marketplace fees - so the profit and ROI figures reflect your actual total investment, not just a rough margin.
